With the new year kicking off people become complacent around the home where crime is concerned. PLEASE DON'T!!!! You might sleep but the criminals don't. Witbankers are luckily in the fortunate position to have a "CPF"...Community Police Forum.
This is a group of people that take safety and security very seriously. They are the eyes and ears of the SAP. They look after their neighbours, the take turns driving around the area they live in, they make a BIG difference to the community.
The CPF is a formal structure that is recognised by the South African Police Force and they work very closely together.
Lamanzi street in Reyno Ridge has become a driving nightmare for the people living in the area of sub sector 6
ReplyDeleteWe have approached Pick and Pay requesting them to improve the situation of deliveries etc
Pick and Pay suggested that they would close off the road by building a wall, we of course are all in agreement with that
Trying to follow protocol/procedure with the local municipality, we requested the wall be built via the DA getting the permission by the municipality etc
The hold ups have been that there is a technical document that needs to be signed.........
Then there was the water crisis which was the hold up....again we waited for the technical document to be signed..
Now the electricity is off at regular intervals.. we are assuming that will be the next excuse for the document not being signed
The traffic has now diverted around Pick and Pay and through our area to avoid the congestion, the traffic being trucks, busses, pedestrians and many formula 1 drivers
Additional to the traffic concerns, we have many locals form the location making use of this opportunity to look for work, sell drugs, terrorise the school children and mothers passing by, either on the way to or from school, they have also increased in numbers wondering around "looking for work"' they say
Someone is bound to be hit by a vehicle very soon,
The people of our neighbourhood are on their last thread regarding patience with these issues of concern
